Welcome to Turm Travel. I am Angie Hough, owner and lead travel advisor. Travel has always been part of my story, long before it became my profession. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management from Indiana University, but it was during my junior year that travel became personal. I moved to Garmisch, Germany, where I lived and worked at a resort for thirteen months. Immersed in daily life abroad, I traveled whenever I could, exploring much of Europe and developing a deep appreciation for place, culture, and the experience of truly being somewhere. That move felt natural to me. My mother lived in Pfeddersheim, Germany, near a historic tower that once formed part of a military fortress, a place rooted in history, resilience, and community. My German heritage gave me the confidence to step fully into life overseas, and it remains foundational to how I approach travel today.

After returning home, my life shifted into a new season. I married my best friend and partner, Mark, and together we focused on raising our family. For a time, travel took a back seat, but the passion never faded.

In January 2022, I returned to the industry as a travel advisor, specializing in custom European itineraries. As my experience grew, so did my expertise. Today, I design journeys across Europe, Asia, Mexico and the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, and beyond, including ocean and river cruises, all- inclusive resorts, and highly personalized international travel.

In 2025, I founded Turm Travel LLC. Turm means “tower” in German, and the name reflects both my roots and my philosophy. A tower is both anchor and landmark, something that belongs to its place, shaped by history, yet offering orientation and direction. That balance of depth and discovery is at the heart of how I approach travel, designing journeys grounded in culture while helping travelers find their way into experiences that truly matter.

At Turm Travel, I bring that same intention to every itinerary I create. My role is not simply to book travel, but to thoughtfully design experiences that connect travelers to the heritage, character, and spirit of the places they visit. Whether a journey is adventurous, restorative, or celebratory, it should feel personal, intentional, and rooted in place.

Travel changes us when it is done well. My goal is to help you experience the world with meaning and with a view that goes beyond the surface.
